Chateau du Plessis is a very old estate with roots in the 13th century. Marie-Claire de Selliers and her husband Piet Vercruysse bought Le Plessis in 2001 and transformed the place into a first-class environment for horses and Parelli Natural Horsemanship students.
The Students' House
This is probably a unique set-up: our working students live in this beautiful house. In 2010 the house was rebuilt by Marie Claire de Selliers and her husband who put a lot of love into its refurbishment. The house has three twin bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy living room with tv, telephone and internet access. The utility room across the entrance porch hosts a washing machine and tumble dryer, while summer sunsets can be enjoyed from a lovely terrace at the back of the house.
Outdoor Riding Arena
Our big outdoor arena invites you to play with and ride horses. Plenty of obstacles are waiting to stimulate your imagination. The round pen with a 17m diameter is provided for playing at liberty or riding. The longest side of the outdoor arena is 60m!
The building complex hosts guest rooms, our office, the big living room (where we have breakfast and lunch together) and the feeding room. On the middle right-hand side of the picture you can see a part of the horse stable.
Indoor Riding Arena
The indoor riding arena is very much appreciated during bad weather and in the winter because of the lighting. The special sand is mixed with material for best cushioning and energy rebound. The size of the indoor riding arena is 25m x 46m!
The playground is more than 1 ha big. Here, the possibilities to play with and ride your horse are endless. It has hills, a big honeycomb, jumps, lots of obstacles and even a little pond and when the water is high enough, it has a little creek to cross.
The estate of Haras Naturel du Plessis has 165 ha of forest. The forest can be used (with a few exceptions during the shooting season) all year around for trail rides
The summer can be very dry and very hot here, but fortunately the lake is just nearby. It's a lot of fun to go swimming with the horses and they love it too!
